Traditional embroidery

I offer two levels of classes so that you can learn the basic embroidery stitches. You can move on to level 2 straight away if you wish, or a little later so that you can practise the techniques learnt in level 1.

Level 1

" Exotic wreath "

Details

This course will teach you the basic stitches of traditional embroidery. ‘The Exotic Wreath’ has been designed so that you can learn the stitches, practise them and have a complete piece at the end of your course. You will then be able to create and embroider your own designs.

Stitches

Stop stitch, Running stitch, Back stitch, Stem stitch, Loop stitch, Buttonhole stitch, Leaf stitch, French knot, Colonial knot, Satin stitch.

Details & Supplies

Duration: 6hrs (2 x 3hrs).

Supplies:

  • The class kit will include everything you require: Threads, cloth, pattern, needles.
  • We provide embroidery scissors, but you may bring your own.

Rate: 240 CHF TTC.

Level 2

" The exotic garden "

Details

This course builds on the stiches learned in Level 1 and will teach you more complex stitches that are equally useful for your embroidery projects.

Stitches

+ Bullion knot, Buttonhole scallops, Fern stitch, Leaf stitch, Whipped wheel stitch, French knot, Colonial knot, Ribbon woven wheel.
